| VITA volunteers help low-income, at-risk taxpayers whose household earned less than $84,000 in 2025. The IRS created the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) free tax prep program to provide free tax preparation for low-income and at-risk taxpayers with the help of community partners and volunteers. VITA offers free tax preparation to households that made less than $84,000 in 2025. Each year, United Way volunteers help thousands of individuals and families prepare their taxes. VITA volunteers are at the Main Library in Franklin on: Monday, 1-6 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. from February 2 – April 13, 2026, excluding February 14 and February 16, when the library is closed for a holiday. The Main Library is one of several VITA sites. Visit the VITA website for others. For more information on how to prepare for an appointment, visit the VITA home page or call 211. |
