The IRS created the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) free tax prep program to provide free tax preparation for low-income and at-risk taxpayers with the help of community partners and volunteers. VITA offers free tax preparation to households that made less than $76,000 in 2024. Each year, United Way volunteers help thousands of individuals and families prepare their taxes.
VITA volunteers are at the Main Library in Franklin on:
- Monday, 1-6 p.m.
- Thursday, 1-6 p.m.
- Saturday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The Main Library is one of several VITA sites. Visit the VITA website for others. For more information, visit the VITA home page.
